 Some people reserve a puppy up to one year in advance to be assured of getting the "pick of the litter". About 50% of puppies are sold before they are born, the rest are sold when we know exactly what sex are in the litter. We have a pretty good idea what the females will produce. We try not to oversell. If we come up short and cannot supply the proper puppy, the deposit will be moved to the next litter. These puppies are worth the wait! 

 It's important to know what you are paying for. The AKC has guidelines for breeders. When you get your registration papers, you can also request the bloodlines to see where your dog came from. If something changes in your life and you need to find another home for your dog and AKC or CKC registered dog is easier to sell and you will get more money. Breeders have to comply with the AKC guidelines or they cannot register their litters. Beware of backyard breeders, you don't know what you are paying for, these are the dogs that usually cost $200-$600. 

 No and yes! We often check the market for the current pricing of this breed. We are now about the same price as most other quality AKC Irish Setters on on the market, and ours are supreme in quality coming from fantastic bloodlines. We stand behind our puppies with our health guarantee. However there are some backyard breeders that have just one or two litters per year, these may be cheaper. Remember, you get what you pay for!

All our dogs get proper exercise and attention with our puppy stimulation, activity and loving program.

 We feed the best dog food....Life's Abundance Premium Dog/Puppy Food. It is digestible for maximum nutrient absorption and each formula is nutritionally complete so more of the concentrated nutrition is retained by your dog.  Imprinting.... this is something that starts from birth. Handling the puppies and getting them used to people and being handled. When people get our puppies they comment on how sweet they are and are not afraid of anything. This is part of the process in the early weeks of raising them. This is not your typical kennel where your puppy doesn't get picked up until he goes home with you. All puppies are given regular exercise outside in a large fenced yard. 

 Finally..... Breeding a quality Irish Setter, or any dog, is really an art. You don't just grab two Irish Setters and start breeding them, this is irresponsible! There are many things to consider before you start breeding two dogs. Conformation, temperament, health etc, etc. If you just try to breed any dog there are other problems that can come up. Agility and hip problems to mention a couple. This takes experience and a good eye to know what to look for in your breeding dogs. At Ruby Valley Farm we have made it our top priority to improve the quality of the Irish Setter Breed in our breeding practices. Top quality is not the least expensive..... All of the above takes experience, time, exercise, premium dog food, proper worming procedure to provide you with the best puppy possible. We accept payment via PayPal, USPS Check, VENMO, Zelle, Cash or Bank Wire to help with your purchase. It cost more for the best, but not that much more. Our puppies cost $2500 with Limited AKC Registration. You may contact us to discuss the possibility of full AKC registration other wise referred to as breeding rights.

 For the safety of our puppies, we do not ship our puppies in cargo. 

You can fly with your puppy. Most airlines allow you to have your puppy fly with you in cabin for an additional $100.  We have many of our Puppy Parents that find this to be a very reasonable option.  NOTE:  Be sure to check with your airline for Puppy Age Requirements as some airlines will not allow you to ship your puppy before the age of 10 weeks. You will also need a soft sided pet carrier.  

FLIGHT NANNY  We can arrange a trusted Flight Nanny to take your puppy from our arms to yours and meet you at the nearest metro airport. This service is an additional fee to the cost of the puppy. Exact quotes and confirmed dates can be made.

Ground Transportation We can arrange door to door deliveries or meet ups to suit each individual situation. This option an addition fee to the cost of the puppy. 

Our litters typically range from 8-10 puppies.

Our puppies receive daily exercise, proper nutrition, and regular veterinary care.

Irish Setters need exercise, play time and an appropriate place to do their potty business. A high strong fence is a good option but not the only option.  On the application, tell me your plan: Thrice daily walks, dog parks etc.  Many of our dogs have become therapy dogs, emotional support dogs and service dogs.
